Head of Performance Marketing
About the role
As the Head of Performance Marketing, your job is to build and lead the engine that drives NexTen’s growth. You are a First-Principles Thinker who can zoom out to design a 12-month growth roadmap and zoom in to mentor a team member on a failing ad hook. You aren't just managing spend; you are managing a team of hustlers to ensure that every rupee invested drives long-term brand equity and immediate profitability.
1. Team Leadership & People Management (The Multiplier)
Build the "A-Team": Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of performance managers, analysts, and creative strategists.
Culture of Experimentation: Foster a "fail fast, learn faster" mindset. Establish the frameworks for creative testing, A/B testing, and rapid iteration that the whole team follows.
Upskilling: Be a coach. You are responsible for raising the "Performance IQ" of the entire organization, ensuring your team stays ahead of platform changes (iOS updates, AI bidding, etc.).
Capital Allocation: Manage the consolidated marketing budget across multiple brands. You decide where to push and where to pull back to maximize the overall portfolio’s ROI.
Omnichannel Strategy: Oversee the execution across Meta, Google, YT, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Snapchat. You identify the "Next Big Channel" before the competition does.
Full-Funnel Vision: You own the entire consumer journey. You ensure that top-of-funnel awareness seamlessly transitions into bottom-of-funnel conversion.
The Hook Factory: Lead the collaboration between Performance and Content. You set the standard for what a "winning hook" looks like and ensure the creative team is briefed with data-backed insights.
Consumer Psychology: Use deep behavioral data to influence not just ads, but product positioning and brand narratives.
4. Data Infrastructure & CRO
The Tech Stack: Own the marketing tech stack. You are responsible for attribution modeling, CAPI integrations, and ensuring we have a "Single Source of Truth" for data.
Website Mastery: Direct the strategy for CRO, AOV, and LTV optimization. You work with tech and category teams to ensure the "leaky bucket" is fixed before you pour more water in.
LTV Obsession: Oversee CRM, Email, and SMS strategies to drive repeat purchases. You understand that the cheapest customer is the one you already have.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a key partner to the CEO and Category Managers, translating complex performance data into clear business strategies.
Requirements
A Scalable Hustler: You still have the "doer" DNA, but you know how to lead through others. You take extreme ownership of the team's wins and losses.
Analytically Fearless: You don't just look at dashboards; you question the data. You understand cohort analysis, incrementality, and media mix modeling (MMM).
Big-Picture Thinker: You understand how performance marketing impacts the P&L, supply chain, and brand health.
Disruption-Minded: You hate "best practices" because they lead to average results. You are always looking for the "unfair advantage."
Requirements
Experience: 7–10+ years in D2C Performance Marketing, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/team management role.
Proven Track Record: You have scaled brands from early-stage to significant revenue milestones while maintaining efficient CAC.
Toolbox: Expert level at the full Meta/Google suite, Shopify analytics, and advanced CRM/Marketing Automation tools.
Communication: Exceptional ability to simplify complex technical concepts for founders and brand owners.
